Transform ordinary frozen fries into an extraordinary feast with this crowd-pleasing mashup. Perfect for game day or whenever you're craving maximum comfort in every bite.
Ingredients
2 lbs frozen french fries
12 oz skirt steak, thinly sliced against the grain
1 large yellow onion, sliced
1 large green bell pepper, sliced
8 oz provolone cheese, shredded
4 oz cream cheese, cubed
3 tbsp vegetable oil
2 tbsp butter
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp salt
Instructions
1
Preheat oven to 425°F and cook frozen fries according to package directions until golden and crispy, about 25-30 minutes.
2
Season sliced steak with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Let sit at room temperature for 10 minutes.
3
Heat 2 tablespoons oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add sliced onions and bell peppers, season with salt and paprika. Cook 8-10 minutes until softened and lightly caramelized. Remove and set aside.
4
In the same skillet, add remaining oil and increase heat to high. Add seasoned steak in a single layer and cook 2-3 minutes per side until browned but still tender. Don't overcrowd the pan.
5
Return peppers and onions to the skillet with the steak. Add butter and toss everything together for 1 minute.
6
Arrange hot fries on a large serving platter or baking sheet. Top evenly with the steak and vegetable mixture.
7
Scatter shredded provolone and cream cheese cubes over the top. Return to oven for 3-4 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
8
Serve immediately while hot, with forks for easy eating.
